Since 1996, the Amarillo Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a public service sorority, has hosted a community health and wellness fair. The fair was renamed in 2006 to honor the memory of Lisa Cherry, the chapter president who died that year following a battle with breast cancer.
